If we are interested in working with your song we will record the song free of cost to the writer at RCA-B and Ocean Way studios using the best student musicians, sound engineers and vocalists, and you will work with our production staff to present your work in the best arrangement possible. We will promote you as a writer through Writers’ Nights. Most importantly we will be pitching your songs in the industry with the goal of getting cuts with established artists and placements in film and TV. We will also handle copyright registration, registration of the songs with the PROs and general administration of the catalog.
Each song submitted will be carefully reviewed by a panel of student staff members, professionals and Belmont faculty members to ensure that the process is fair and that we really do showcase the best songs of Belmont songwriters.
Because we are just beginning our operations, we may not be able to sign and record every song submitted – although we hope to sign as many quality songs as possible. We will however, carefully review every song submitted and, if possible, provide feedback on improving the song if it is not accepted. We absolutely encourage submitting more songs as you write them! We will keep all songs submitted in mind and hopefully will be able to work with them down the road. In the meantime keep writing and submitting!
Songs should be submitted through the SUBMIT tab on the site’s navigation bar. They can be Mp3s or any readable file. Worktapes do not need to be fully produced, in fact the more simple and clear the better. As long as it is a good representation of the song, we want to hear it!
We don’t only need great songs, we need musicians, singers, and engineers to work on sessions, and people who are interested in the business side to help us run Bruin Publishing! We won’t be able to get every engineer and musician in on every session right away but if not, we will gladly arrange for you to hopefully work with some of the great writers who are submitting songs. After we have seen and listened to your work with those songs we will be able to offer you more and more work. We still need help running things on the business side so if you are interested please contact us!
